David de Vlieger

David is a Senior Legal Counsel, Litigation with Repsol Oil & Gas Canada Inc., having previously been in private practice for 15 years in the area of civil litigation and advocacy. He has extensive experience in sports law, having represented athletes, coaches, and NSO’s in various judicial review, arbitration, and disciplinary processes. David has been a board member of Swimming Natation Canada for the past five years and currently serves as its President (Chair of the Board). Swimming Canada recently embarked upon an ambitious new strategic plan – Vision 2020 – aiming to re-establish Canada as one of the top swimming nations in the world. David is also a board member of Aquatics Canada, the voice of Canada’s Olympic aquatic sports. This board represents these sports internationally within FINA, the international aquatics federation.
