Sport Medicine Physician
Dr. Bobby has worked in different areas of sports medicine including working with the national Canadian teams for both Judo and Diving, as well as working on a smaller scale with local amateur sports teams. Before his formal medical education, Dr. Bobby worked as a trainer at the collegiate level with the UBC Thunderbirds. This experience provided him with invaluable insights and laid a strong foundation for his career in sports medicine.
In addition to his medical training, Dr. Bobby holds an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and a graduate degree in Public Health from the University of British Columbia (UBC). After completing his medical degree at UBC, he furthered his postgraduate training at both the University of Calgary and the University of Ottawa. Practicing at multiple institutions across the country has allowed him to incorporate diverse patterns of practice, making him a more adaptable and versatile physician.
Sports and competition have always played a central role in Dr. Bobby’s life. He has participated in various athletic pursuits, both individually and as part of a team, and has competed internationally in taekwondo, where he earned a black belt. Additionally, he has competed at the provincial level in basketball and continues to play for leisure.
Dr. Bobby’s personal experience with a prolonged concussion has been a significant factor in shaping his passion for sports medicine, a passion that continues to drive his career today. The challenges he faced during his recovery ultimately led to his retirement from competitive sports. This experience fuels his commitment to helping young athletes recover quickly and effectively so they can pursue their athletic goals. Dr. Bobby’s ultimate objective with every athlete he treats is to provide the highest level of care, expertise, and support, facilitating their return to full athletic potential.
