Bryan Yu, MSc., BKin

Strength & Conditioning Coach

Bryan Yu completed his Master of Science in Biomechanics at the University of Calgary in 2023 under the supervision of Dr. Walter Herzog. His research examined muscle operating lengths in speed skaters during the turn-cable exercise.

Since 2014, he has worked at the Canadian Sport Institute Alberta, supporting national and development teams across Olympic and Paralympic sports. He currently serves as the lead strength and conditioning coach for the Canadian Men’s National Para Hockey and Sitting Volleyball Teams. He also coordinates the Strength and Power Lab, overseeing athlete testing to monitor readiness and guide return-to-performance strategies.

Bryan’s practice integrates evidence-based methods to enhance athlete health, performance, and long-term development. Outside of sport, he enjoys rock climbing and gaming.
