Carolyn Taylor,
MSc.
Biomechanist
With a hunger for knowledge, Carolyn followed her passion for playing sports and coaching athletes, to the University of Manitoba where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science. Wanting a better understanding of human movement, Carolyn decided to pursue a career in applied Sport Biomechanics and graduated with a Master’s of Science Degree in 2007.
While in the graduate program at the University of Manitoba, Carolyn was selected by the Canadian Olympic Committee to help support the Team Canada as a member of the inaugural Performance Technology Team at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games – a position she later helped establish for the Paralympic Committee in 2008.
With roughly 20 years working within the Canadian High Performance System, Carolyn has worked with coaches and athletes from both summer and winter, Olympic and Paralympic sports as an applied Sport Biomechanist. By meshing her expertise in biomechanics with her knowledge and proficiency with current sport technologies, Carolyn works closely with coaches to create more efficient workflows in the daily training environment, helping to enhance the effectiveness of the coach, and help athletes reach their full potential.
Carolyn is a big dog lover with a passion for the outdoors and she can often be found playing with dogs (not all of them hers) throughout the year, regardless of the weather.
