While recovering from a personal injury Lauren was inspired by how physiotherapist use their deep understanding of anatomy to help athletes manage pain, function optimally, and return to high performance sport. It was this experience that led her to complete her Master of Science in physical therapy at the University of Alberta. Lauren was also one of the first Canadians to graduate with an IOC Sport Physiotherapy Diploma.
Lauren has worked with the Women’s National sitting volleyball team at the ParaPan American Games in Toronto, where they won a bronze medal to qualify for the Rio Paralympic Games. She was also a member of the Luge team in PyeongChang that made history winning the first ever medals for Canada (Alex Gough and Luge Team). Lauren is currently the lead physiotherapist for the long track speed skating team. She also sits on the Sport Physio Canada Executive Committee.
