We provide internship, practicums, field placements and scholarships to aspiring sport science professionals in the fields of strength and conditioning, exercise physiology, dietetics/nutrition, biomechanics, massage therapy and sport business.

Strength and Conditioning
Internship
The Internship is a 16-week intensive experience that will allow you to gain valuable skills and knowledge to lay a foundation for a future career as a strength and conditioning coach. The Internship runs from May 11-August 28th, 2020. You will learn the applied science of strength and power training and how to integrate many different skill sets like programming and movement assessments into a cohesive training philosophy.
High Performance Sport Award
The Canadian Sport Institute Alberta High Performance Sport Award is awarded to students pursing a Masters or PhD in the area of Sport Science. The award supports students with a passion for high performance sport research and or applied sport science field work.

Nathaniel Morris
Strength and Conditioning Coach
Nathaniel is a graduate student in Biomechanics at the University of Calgary. His research focuses on techniques to restore and monitor muscle strength and power after ACL injury in elite athletes. His current research involves different types of neuromuscular testing including isometric strength testing and ultrasound imaging to evaluate the structure and function of the hamstring muscles following surgery.

Drew Lawson
Strength and Conditioning Coach
Drew is completing his Master of Science Kinesiology (Biomechanics) at the University of Calgary. His research focuses on the rehabilitation process of athletes and the identification of thresholds in the return to sport process – investigating the role of hip musculature strength on landing performance in ACL-reconstructed winter slope sport athletes.
