Jalena Bertagnolli CSEP-CEP
Exercise Physiologist
Jalena completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology following a practicum with The Canadian Sport Institute Alberta in 2014. She was inspired by the high performance, detail-oriented environment and joined the team full time in 2015. She later returned to academia completing a Master of Science in Neuroscience to explore sport science questions relating to concussions and neuro-performance.
Through CSI Alberta’s partnership with The Benson Concussion Institute Jalena works with athletes who have sustained a concussion and is involved in ongoing research projects in this area. Equally, she works with healthy high-performance athletes coordinating fitness assessments and providing physiological guidance. She is an active member of the Canadian Network for High Performance Athlete Assessment Standards (CN-HPAAS) and testing coordinator for a variety of sports including mountain sports such as Alpine, Ski Cross, Freestyle and Ski Jumping.
In her spare time, you might find Jalena at the rink coaching figure skating, helping on the family farm, or enjoying a good sports documentary.
