Exercise Physiologist

Nicole completed her Bachelor of Physical Education and Health at McGill University. She went on to complete her Master of Kinesiology in applied exercise physiology at the University of Calgary.

Prior to joining the Canadian Sport Institute Alberta full-time in 2017, Nicole worked at Foothills Hospital as a research assistant in Cardiac Medicine. She is a certified Anthropometrist and has developed a specialty for para-sports and research.

In 2015, Nicole published an abstract on “Comparison of Self-Perceived Daily Physical Activity vs Objective Measures Among Female Varsity Student Athletes” and presented it at the American College of Sport Medicine Annual Meeting. During her master’s, she was published as a co-first author on a paper comparing devices that measures body composition. She is also a co-investigator on a research project in partnership with Cycling Canada to evaluate the physiological profile and muscle activation patterns of hand cycling.

Fun fact: Nicole competed as an artistic gymnast, a rower, as well as a pole vaulter.
